The aim of this course is to support managers in order that they can promote wellbeing in staff, prevent stress and deal with it if it does occur.
The focus of this course is on providing managers with the skills, knowledge and confidence to promote wellbeing and prevent and manage stress in their staff.
The course centres around wellbeing and performance, the impact stress can have on the individual and the organisation, and the influence in practical terms that the manager can have on promoting wellbeing and managing stress. It looks at the reasons why the business is interested in wellbeing (e.g. duty of care; impact on performance; legal imperative; cost to the business). It also introduces the HSE Stress Management Standards approach - Control; Support; Relationships; Role; Change; Demands - in addition to the skills and competencies required to implement them (Stress Management Competencies). It provides an opportunity to practice undertaking a simple wellbeing/stress risk assessment.
