How To Be Emotionally Intelligent (half-day session)

The aim of the session is to familiarise you with emotional intelligence (EQ), with what it means for you personally and professionally, and to provide you with practical tools and techniques so you can think, feel and behave in emotionally intelligent ways

By the end of the session, you'll be able to describe

  • Why you think, feel and behave the way you do
  • Understand, manage and control your emotions (intra-personal intelligence)
  • How to connect with/'tune into' yourself
  • How your values underpin what matters to you, drives you and makes you tick
  • How to relate, establish rapport and make positive relationships with others (inter-personal intelligence)
  • How to connect with/'tune into' others
  • What contributes to - and detracts from - thinking, feeling and behaving in an emotionally intelligent way
  • How to use and read emotionally intelligent verbal and non-verbal language
  • How to have emotionally intelligent conversations
  • At least 5 ways that you personally can be more emotionally intelligent

Session details

The session is based around the premise that if you want to make the most of yourself and present the best version of yourself personally and professionally, and be who you are/want to be, it’s likely that to do this you’ll need to:

This is where emotional intelligence, and this session, comes in.

A good level of emotional intelligence will help you to achieve your goals; be an effective operator; learn from others; encourage resilience when life is difficult; achieve your potential; persuade and influence others to your mutual benefit; have positive personal impact, in terms of how others feel having come into contact with you; feel good yourself, and make others feel good; come across how you want to come across; leave a positive and beneficial imprint in your personal and professional lives; encourage emotional intelligence in those you come into contact with.

This is a participative session, with lots of exercises and opportunities to reflect on and practice how to be emotionally intelligent.
