Developing and Maintaining Resilience (half-day)

Course Aim
To support staff to maintain, encourage and promote resilience (particularly at times of change and uncertainty) and to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive professionally and personally.
 
Course objectives
 
By the end of the session, participants will be able to
  • Develop personal resilience skills
  • State how your thinking affects your feelings and behaviours (and those of others) and vice-versa
  • Describe at least 10 responses/symptoms we can experience physically, mentally, emotionally and behaviourally during times of adversity/uncertainty
  • Detail specifically how you can maintain and develop your level of Confidence; Purposefulness; Adaptability and Support
  • Say how Emotional Intelligence can support our resilience
  • Detail at least 5 tools and techniques – practical/thinking skills - for promoting your resilience
  • Set your own Resilience Plan
 
Course details
This is a highly practical, thought-provoking course, which provides delegates with practical assistance in developing and maintaining their resilience. It is applicable and useful for all, allowing delegates to identify and examine their own resiliency skills, and areas for improvement, providing practical ways in which they can develop those areas of need they have identified.   

There is a combination of trainer input and delegate participation in this session, with delegates encouraged to provide feedback and practice resilience skills.

Participants will complete a Resilience Plan of how they will maintain, encourage and promote their resilience as part of their development.

The course can be run as a 'stand-alone', or as part of our Resilience Planning Programme.
